To enable a safe growth of such geological formations, any dangers over the linked induced seismic activity should first be evaluated. This evaluation requires extending existing approaches for assessing the potential hazards of tectonic earthquakes and earthquakes caused by gas extraction<a href=\"https:\/\/www.lancaster.ac.uk\/stor-i-student-sites\/wanchen-yue\/upper-tail-inference-for-modelling-of-human-induced-earthquake-magnitudes\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.lancaster.ac.uk\/stor-i-student-sites\/wanchen-yue\/upper-tail-inference-for-modelling-of-human-induced-earthquake-magnitudes\/\">&#8230;&#8230;<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul style=\"margin-top:var(--wp--preset--spacing--60);margin-right:var(--wp--preset--spacing--60);margin-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--60);margin-left:var(--wp--preset--spacing--60);padding-top:0;padding-right:0;padding-bottom:0;padding-left:0\" class=\"wp-block-list has-default-sans-font-family\">\n<li><strong>MSc Project: Climate data trend analysis<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-default-sans-font-family has-tiny-font-size\">With the frequent occurrence of climate-induced natural disasters in recent years, research on climate change is urgently needed. To get a better understanding of how climate change is developing, statisticians over the past several decades have proposed various statistical methods to quantify the climate change problem. For example, models for estimating climate trends were introduced and other trend-feature detection approaches were developed<a href=\"https:\/\/www.lancaster.ac.uk\/stor-i-student-sites\/wanchen-yue\/trend-analysis-and-change-point-detection-in-climate-change\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.lancaster.ac.uk\/stor-i-student-sites\/wanchen-yue\/trend-analysis-and-change-point-detection-in-climate-change\/\">&#8230;&#8230;<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul style=\"padding-top:0;padding-right:0;padding-bottom:0;padding-left:0\" class=\"wp-block-list has-default-sans-font-family has-medium-font-size\">\n<li><strong>Summer Research Project<\/strong>: <strong>Reduction<\/strong> <strong>of general graphs using minimum number of edges<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-default-sans-font-family has-tiny-font-size\">Graphs with highly connected nodes are widely used in various application, the complexity of which makes it difficult to read and digest.
