Hankui Peng

PhD student, Associate Lecturer

Profile

I received my Bachelor’s degree in Statistics and Master’s degree in Statistical Practice. Having served as a statistical consultant during my graduate studies, I had the chance to tackle various statistical problems that arose in several academic projects. The enjoyable experience motivated me to delve deeper both on the theoretical and practical side of statistics.

My PhD project, focused on high-dimensional clustering problems, is in collaboration with the Data Science Campus (DSC) within the Office for National Statistics (ONS). We are interested in problems of efficiently grouping and transforming a large number of web-scraped price information into a price index that is competitive to the current CPI index. My academic supervisors are Nicos Pavlidis and Idris Eckley.
