Counselling and Mental Health services
If you have an emotional, psychological and/or mental health difficulty that is affecting your university experience then you may wish to access the Counselling and Mental Health Service. Our counsellors and mental health advisors work collaboratively with you to provide professional support on issues such as personal, family, social or academic matters.
Typically we help:
- to improve your understanding of your difficulty
- identify and develop helpful coping strategies and solutions
- support you with informing your department of any difficulties that may be affecting your studies
- make appropriate referrals to provide extra support.
For students not based in Lancaster we have a selection of online resources. If you need further support please contact services in your local area.
Please note that staff members wishing to access counselling or request advice should use Lancaster University’s employee assistance programme.
