There are two goals for this module. The first goal is to introduce students to (a) key findings and central debates in the study of pedagogical grammar and to (b) develop familiarity with the existing literature. The lectures will provide students with a general overview, i.e. central topics are summarized, important studies discussed and open questions outlined. The second goal is to apply this knowledge, i.e. to enable students to identify what makes particular grammatical forms difficult for L2 learners and develop effective ways of teaching L2 grammar.
