Pathway Programmes in China

There are a number of undergraduate and postgraduate options for students wishing to study a university preparation programme or transfer from one of our partner universities in China.

Lancaster University Pathway Programmes in China

Foundation (1+3) Programmes

Our foundation programmes are designed to prepare international students for their chosen undergraduate subject at Lancaster. These one-year programmes provide training in academic and study skills, computer skills, British culture and English Language preparation.

Undergraduate 2+2 Programmes

Lancaster University currently offers 2+2 Programmes at a number of partner universities in China

Students on these programmes spend the first two years of their undergraduate studies in China and then study for a further two years here at Lancaster. In most cases, the degree which is awarded is from Lancaster University only.

Those students who meet the Lancaster University admissions criteria will be given the opportunity to go directly into the second year of the specified degree programme at Lancaster. Pre-Master’s Programme in China

We offer a pre-Master’s programme in the School of International Studies at Beijing Foreign Studies University, leading to a postgraduate Master’s degree at Lancaster in selected Linguistics and Media programmes.

Postgraduate Programmes

Lancaster University currently offers a range of postgraduate programmes such as double master's, 3+1 and 4+1 with a number of universities. Students on these programmes spend one or two years of their master's studies in China and one year here at Lancaster; usually in their second or third year.
