Engineering / Computing 3+2 Transfer Programme

On this programme students spend three years of their BTech degree at SRM University and take their final year at Lancaster. In this case, students go directly into the third and final year of one of our BEng or BSc Honours degree schemes. We then transfer credit back to SRM and students are awarded their BTech from SRM University. Students then continue on for a further year at Lancaster, on one of our Master’s degree programmes, and on successful completion they are awarded their Master’s degree by Lancaster University. This programme is available for all our undergraduate Engineering and Computer Science programmes and on selected Master’s degree schemes in our Faculty of Science and Technology.

Admissions Criteria

SRM University students who wish to be admitted to the 3+2 programme will need to have at least 75% average from the best four subjects at Standard 12 and have at least 70% in English at Standard 10 or 65% at Standard 12. In addition they must have achieved a CGPA of 8.0 over the first six semesters at SRM in order to progress to Lancaster after their third year.

Students can choose from any one of the following degrees offered at Lancaster:

2+2 and 2+3 Engineering /Computing Transfer Programme

In this programme, students spend two years of their BTech degree at SRM University and take their final two years at Lancaster. In this case, students go directly into the second year of one of our BEng or BSc Honours degree schemes. Students are awarded their degrees from Lancaster University. Students then have the option to extend the programme to the postgraduate level leading to the award of an integrated Master's degree from Lancaster.

Admissions Criteria

SRM University students who wish to be admitted to the 2+2/2+3 programme will need to have at least a 75% average from the best four subjects at Standard 12 and have at least 70% in English at Standard 10 or 65% at Standard 12. In addition, they must have achieved a CGPA of 7.0 over the first three semesters at SRM in order to progress to Lancaster after their second year.

Students can choose from any one of the following degrees offered at Lancaster:

Double Master's Engineering/Computing 1+1 Programme

In this programme, students spend one year of their master's degree at SRM University and take their final year at Lancaster. Students are awarded a degree from SRM and a degree from Lancaster University. This programme is available for students registered in the following degree programmes at SRMU.

Admissions Criteria

SRM University students who wish to be admitted to the 1+1 double master's programme will need to have passed their BE/BTech degree at a minimum of 50% to enter SRM University. Subsequently, in order to be admitted to LU they must meet the following criteria:

  • Students with 60% or higher on their undergraduate degree will require a GPA of 6 out of 10 in the first year of their master's programme at SRM University
  • Students with 50 - 59% on their undergraduate degree will require a GPA of 7 out of 10 in the first year of their master's programme at SRM University

Additionally, students will be required to have and have at least 70% in English at Standard 10 or 65% at Standard 12.
