Manipal University has emerged as a leading higher education provider in India having been established for 58 years. The University is spread over 600 green acres and is home to 26,000 students pursuing undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in diverse subjects.

There are three transfer programmes to choose from depending on your background and which degree scheme you wish to study at Lancaster.

Engineering and Computing 2+2 or 2+3 Transfer Programme

Students on this programme spend the first two years of their undergraduate studies in the International Centre for Applied Sciences (ICAS) at Manipal and then take the final two years at Lancaster. If students wish, they can continue on for a further year, spending three years here, to be awarded an MEng/MSci degree from Lancaster. In both cases, the degree that is awarded is from Lancaster University.

Admissions Criteria

In the first two years at Manipal, in order to be admitted to Lancaster, students need to have reached 70% in Maths, Physics and all related subjects to their proposed field of study. Students must also have at least 70% in Standard 10 English or IELTS at 6.5 with a minimum of 5.5 in each component or TOEFL equivalent.

Students can choose from any one of the following degrees offered at Lancaster:

Biotechnology 1+2 or 1+3 Transfer Programme

We also have a Biotechnology programme, whereby students spend one year of their Bachelor's degree in Manipal’s Centre for Molecular and Cellular Biology and then come to Lancaster for the final two or three years of the programme.
