I chose Lancaster University because it offered the course I wanted to study and because it is a campus university with an active international community. I really enjoy the modules offered in my course which makes studying Politics with International Relations very interesting. Moreover, the professors and tutors are very supportive and helpful, making the learning experience worthwhile.
After finishing my undergraduate degree, I plan to do a postgraduate degree. I believe doing a course in Lancaster has improved my researching skills and prepared me well for pursuing a postgraduate degree. Lancaster has a careers service which offers careers counselling along with that various workshops about employability, CV writing, interviews, etc. Besides that, the course departments are really helpful with any support or guidance one might need.
I think the best aspect of studying at Lancaster is the friendly environment with a great student life. There are also many different types of societies and extra-curricular activities offered here which keeps students busy. Students should be prepared to do independent study, though, which requires sticking to deadlines and attending all classes.
The city of Lancaster is great with many restaurants, shops and tourists spots so there is a lot to do here. Cities like Liverpool and Manchester are only an hour away and London about three hours by train, which makes travelling around the UK very easy.
