Join the Green Lancaster team's weekly ECOWild Walk for a chance to immerse yourself in the natural world through wildlife observation and mindful activities.

Join the Green Lancaster team's weekly ECOWild Walk for a chance to immerse yourself in the natural world through wildlife observation and mindful activities. The walks take place every Tuesday between 09:30 and 13:00 during term time and include elements such as flora identification, wildlife observation, nature immersion, creative activities, and outdoor tea break.

With the help of books, binoculars and other material, participants develop their biodiversity monitoring skills and help provide biodiversity information that contributes to nature conservation, planning, research and education. To record and monitor biodiversity on university land, we use the iRecord app. By uploading our species sightings to the app, we help provide biodiversity information that contributes to nature conservation, planning, research and education.

Through simple activities and invitations, we also hope to provide participants with the tools and opportunity to nurture their relationship with nature.

Please meet at the ECOHub on Alexandra Park, from where we will set off for our walk across campus and/or Forrest Hills.

Please ensure you are wearing appropriate outdoor footwear and clothing. If you would like to, you will be able to borrow waterproofs and wellies on the day. You are welcome to bring snacks and a drink with you as we usually have an al fresco a tea-break during the session. We will provide tea for participants.

Please contact us on green@lancaster.ac.uk in advance of the session if you have reduced mobility or accessibility requirements.

We welcome members of the local community to Green Lancaster events, however participants must be aged 18 or over. Under 18’s can only take part in events delivered in collaboration with local schools, colleges or youth organisations.
