Join the Green Lancaster team's weekly ECOWoods sessions and take part in hands-on restoration work.

Join the Green Lancaster team's weekly ECOWoods sessions and take part in hands-on restoration work. The sessions take place every Friday between 09:30 and 13:00 during term time and include activities such as tree planting, spring bulb planting, wildflower meadow, hedgerow & woodland management, natural building, and tree tubes and stakes maintenance.

Volunteering with ECOWoods, offers direct and practical responses to the climate and ecological emergencies, as the project restores the local landscape, increases biodiversity, sequesters carbon from the atmosphere and protects against flooding. Get involved, gain practical experience and help with nature regeneration!

Please meet at the ECOHub on Alexandra Park, from where we will make our way on foot to the day’s location.

Please ensure you are wearing appropriate outdoor footwear and clothing. If you would like to, you will be able to borrow waterproofs and wellies on the day. Gloves and equipment will be provided. You are welcome to bring snacks and a drink with you as we usually have an al fresco a tea-break during the session. We will provide tea for all participants.

Please contact us on green@lancaster.ac.uk in advance of the session if you have reduced mobility or accessibility requirements.

We welcome members of the local community to Green Lancaster events, however participants must be aged 18 or over. Under 18’s can only take part in events delivered in collaboration with local schools, colleges or youth organisations.
