Volunteer for events and activities

If you're wondering how you can get involved with sustainability projects on campus, the best thing to do is sign up for our newsletter where we'll serve you up the latest news, events and conversations from the University, Student Societies, local community and even academic research. All our events and opportunities are promoted via the newsletter and it's the simplest way to see what's going on. If you don't fancy signing up then you can keep an eye on our events page.

Because Green Lancaster isn't a society, the opportunities to get involved are managed slightly differently. Some of our events and activities support existing societies. Where this is the case, you'll need to be a member of a particular society to partake. Occasionally, these events and activities are open to everyone and the best way to hear about these is through our Green Lancaster Newsletter.

Follow Us on Social Media

The first step in your journey to sustainability is to engage with us on social media. We're not interested in the number of followers we have or how many likes our posts get but we can (and do) use social media to promote important events, highlight important stories and educate our audience.

But don't stop at following us. Why not search for some interesting societies and give them a follow to. Speak to the Students' Union about getting involved for an up-to-date list of all the environmentally friendly societies available to you.

Become an Ambassador

From time to time you might see one of our Ambassadors (they're the ones wearing the Green Lancaster Merch!). They're usually spotted in the wild, tending to the ECOHub or down at Forrest Hills with a pitch-fork! The Ambassadors are hard-working, dedicated and serious activists when it comes to sustainability. These guys want to make a difference. Only our Ambassador Team and Green Lancaster staff wear the Green Lancaster T-shirts and to get one you have to be a regular volunteer.
