Lancaster University benefits from the most frequent campus to city centre bus service in the UK and most people commute to campus by bus. The direct No 1 service runs every 10 minutes Mon - Sat during term time. Other through routes serve most destinations within the Lancaster/Morecambe urban area, as well as the city centre, providing at least 14 buses every hour during term-time daytimes. Lancaster University works closely in partnership with Stagecoach (who run most of the buses in Lancaster) and the Students' Union to deliver better bus services to the University.
Staff bus use at the University has more than doubled since the Travel Plan was introduced in 2005. 23% of staff now commute to campus by bus. University staff can qualify for a free or heavily subsidised annual bus pass.
Please see our Campus Bus Route Map 2018 for full details of bus stops on campus.
Please see Lancaster and Morecambe Network Map for details of Stagecoach Services in the area.
