Become a Volunteer

If you have an interest in John Ruskin, the Collection or the work that we do then why not consider getting involved as a volunteer?

Volunteering can help you build or practice skills, meet new people, find out how museums and galleries operate, or provide a break from other commitments.

The Ruskin is expanding its work and alongside we can offer a range of volunteering opportunities to suit a variety of schedules and levels of expertise.

We welcome enquiries from anyone who is interested, regardless of age, background or experience. Relevant training and equipment is provided, and we will pay your travel expenses.

At the moment we are particularly in need of volunteers to help us as Gallery Assistants for our current exhibition The Ruskin: Museum of the Near Future, which is open until 28 February, and after that for our ongoing exhibition programme.

If you’d like to have an informal discussion about becoming a volunteer, please e-mail the-ruskin@lancaster.ac.uk or telephone 01524 593587.
