Les Aiguilles, Chamonix - Daguerreotype

What is the Ruskin Whitehouse Collection?

The largest collection of Ruskin material in the world, housed here at Lancaster University!

Founded at Bembridge School (on the Isle of Wight) by John Howard Whitehouse, the collection moved to Lancaster in 1998 and became the responsibility of The Ruskin Foundation. In March 2019 it was announched that the Collection had purchased by Lancaster University on behalf of the nation with the support of the National Heritage Memorial Fund and a group of other funders, securing it at the University for the public and future generations of scholars.
