The day had as its starting point the Centre&#8217;s online\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.lancaster.ac.uk\/transculturalwriting-archive\/regarding_war\/about.html\" target=\"_blank\">Regarding War<\/a> exhibition, which contains images by photographer\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.hansonphoto.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">Richard Hanson<\/a>\u00a0and textual pieces written in response to those images by novelist\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.fadiafaqir.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Fadia Faqir<\/a>. The conference included an exhibition of Richard Hanson\u2019s photographs, a creative writing workshop run by\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.graham-mort.com\/Site\/Welcome.html\" target=\"_blank\">Graham Mort<\/a>\u00a0and the work of two filmmakers who are exploring similar themes, Dictynna Hood and Sami Khan.<\/p>\n<div class=\"line-hor\"><\/div>\n<h2>Comments on the 2009 Trans-Scriptions event<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.lancaster.ac.uk\/transculturalwriting-archive\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/Panel_Regarding_War.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1090 alignright\" style=\"margin-left: 12px; margin-right: 12px;\" title=\"Panel_Regarding_War\" src=\"http:\/\/www.lancaster.ac.uk\/transculturalwriting-archive\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/Panel_Regarding_War.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"168\" \/><\/a>\u201cI want to thank every one involved in making it such an interesting and challenging event. \u00a0The workshop, the talks, and the discussion were so stimulating and thought-provoking.\u201d<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">\u201cReally appreciated the event. Brought together an interesting group of people. A stimulating thought provoking event. Would be good if there were future events of this kind.\u201d<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">\u201cIt was a great day that was accessible to both academics and non-academics. It was linked together from the workshop to the panel discussion which gave it continuity and reinforced the subject matter.\u201d<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">\u201cThe interdisciplinary nature of the event was inspiring. The fusion of poetry, prose, photography and film meant that fresh insights were discovered as the day progressed.
