Most don&#8217;t die of mystery ailments, or in tragic &#8220;accidents&#8221;. They die because an<br>employer decided their safety just wasn&#8217;t that important a priority.<br><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tuc.org.uk\/wmd\">International Workers\u2019 Memorial Day<\/a> (IWMD) commemorates those workers.<br>Unite has a dedicated team of Health &amp; Safety Reps who on your behalf investigate accidents or near miss reports you submit. It is<br>important that you request a copy of the form to be sent to your Health and Safety Representative when you <a href=\"https:\/\/portal.lancaster.ac.uk\/intranet\/services\/people\/health-and-safety\/accident-and-incidents\/report-an-accident-or-incident\">submit a form<\/a> to the<br>University. You don\u2019t have to be a member of our union to get the incident investigated independently, just tick the box. It&#8217;s essential we<br>report all accidents of incidents to the employer, and this form can be found using this <a href=\"https:\/\/portal.lancaster.ac.uk\/intranet\/services\/people\/health-and-safety\/accident-and-incidents\/report-an-accident-or-incident\">link<\/a><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">Trade unions <strong>DO <\/strong>make a difference, and <strong>WE<\/strong> are the union.<br><strong><em>Workplaces where there are unions are safer workplaces!
