From September 2021 sanitary products will be available from five vending machines at locations across Bailrigg campus. The University&#8217;s announcement can be seen by staff on the <a href=\"https:\/\/portal.lancaster.ac.uk\/intranet\/news\/article\/free-vend-sanitary-products-now-available-to-staff\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Intranet<\/a>. Some quotes from the article:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><em>We have been collaboratively working on this project after presenting the idea at a communication and consultation meeting in September 2019.<\/em> <em>This was prompted by Unite\u2019s national period dignity campaign and is a positive step in changing attitudes around periods. It\u2019s also been an excellent example of partnership working between Unite the Union and Lancaster University as an employer. This is a fantastic step forward for Lancaster University, and Unite are very happy we are now at a stage to implement free sanitary products for staff.<\/em><\/p><cite>Jessica Fisher &#8211; Unite Health &amp; Safety Rep<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><em>As an employer committed to advancing equality for our staff, this is an important step for us to take. I\u2019d like to thank everyone involved in this project.<\/em><\/p><cite>Russ Quigley, Deputy Director of People and Organisational Effectiveness<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>The free vend products are available in five locations across campus chosen for their proximity to high-footfall areas, and are in the following gender-neutral facilities:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Bowland North- B077 accessible washroom<\/li><li>Health Innovation One &#8211; D15d5 accessible washroom<\/li><li>Lancaster Environment Centre (LEC) &#8211; C22 accessible washroom<\/li><li>Management School West Pavillion &#8211; WP C037 accessible washroom<\/li><li>InfoLab21 &#8211; C09 accessible washroom<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>You can locate the free vend machines via the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/use.mazemap.com\/#v=1&amp;config=lancaster&amp;zlevel=1&amp;center=-2.787858,54.007716&amp;zoom=14&amp;campusid=341&amp;typepois=34478\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Mazemaps family friendly site<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-heading\"><strong>What is Unite&#8217;s Period Dignity Campaign<\/strong>?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Unite <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unitetheunion.org\/news-events\/news\/2018\/september\/unite-launches-campaign-for-period-dignity\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>launched<\/strong><\/a> it&#8217;s <em><strong>Period Dignity Campaign<\/strong><\/em> in 2018 and got its <a href=\"https:\/\/unitelive.org\/unite-period-dignity-campaign\/#:~:text=Unite%20national%20officer%20Siobhan%20Endean%20hailed%20Unite%E2%80%99s%20Period,with%20sanitary%20protection%20provided%20in%20all%20women%E2%80%99s%20toilets.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>first win<\/strong><\/a> at the Rolls Royce Washington site in the same year.
