£10,000 to take the Environment Now Challenge!

Do you have a digital solution to an environmental challenge?

Following on from the recent Thinkspiration workshop hosted on campus by the Environment Now team we have some further details with regards to taking part in the Environment Now Challenge!

Through the Environment Now challenge you can apply for up to £10,000 to develop your idea and you’ll also receive mentoring, work experience and insight days with industry professionals help you make it happen.

To apply for the challenge you must:

  • Be aged 17-25 years old.
  • Use digital technology to solve an environmental issue
  • Be based within the UK
  • Be committed to completing project objectives within ten months
  • Have the passion to inspire other young people

College Sustainability Challenge

Win £750 to make Lancaster University campus more sustainable!

Take part in this year’s nine college sustainability challenge!

The competition will involve students developing and presenting innovative ideas in response to challenges set by the University. The idea which is considered to be best researched, most innovative and most actionable by the esteemed panel of judges will win a £750 prize, with runners up receiving £250.

This is your chance to:

  • Help Lancaster University become more environmentally sustainable.
  • Work across disciplines with others in your college.
  • Win funding to make your idea happen.
  • Gain experience that will give you new skills and help impress future employers.

Teams will receive the support of a coach and will be introduced to experts relevant to their idea from across campus. The competition will culminate in week 9 when ideas will be pitched to a panel of experts.

Green Alley Award 2016

Apply now and  help build a sustainable future for Europe

The Green Alley Award is Europe’s only award for entrepreneurs and start-ups working in the circular economy. Green Alley and crowd funding platform Seedmatch are looking for green entrepreneurs with ideas for a sustainable economy and new ways of looking at waste as a resource. Online application is quick and easy, accepting both classic pitch decks and creative videos. The guidelines explain which contents start-ups can use to convince the jury and secure a place in the final.

There is a prize package including cash and services worth up to 30,000 euros and start-ups will also benefit from a wealth network contacts and advice from experts in the field.
