Teachers and Advisers Conference 2020

Thursday 4th June 2020, 9.45am - 5.00pm, Lancaster University

This one-day, free to attend Teachers and Advisers Conference is designed to provide an exciting range of professional development opportunities for teachers and advisers, new and experienced, working with university applicants. There will be the opportunity to hear from a range of external speakers and Lancaster University experts on topics that will help you further advise students on their university applications.

Programme

The sessions and workshops offered on the day are designed to inform you about different areas of the HE environment as well as to help you to support your students through the application process and with their progression into HE. There will be a number of external speakers as well as Lancaster University experts to deliver sessions.

External speaker talks will include:

UCAS: UCAS Hub update and supporting student applications - Delivered by UCAS

Unibuddy: The power of the student question and peer to peer support - Delivered by Unibuddy

Student Finance: Changes and updates - Delivered by Student Finance England

In addition, there will be a wide variety of sessions covering different aspects of university life and subjects delivered by our Lancaster University experts.

These will include updates on a variety of courses including; Medicine, Law, Architecture, Business Management and Marketing and Computer Science. We will be also providing an overview of our campus and university developments, as well as information on our welfare and careers support, graduate prospects, student experiences and admissions advice.

There will also be a networking fair for the chance for you to meet with our faculty academics and advisers, student ambassadors, admissions experts and the Student Union.

Overnight Stay

Overnight Stay

For delegates attending from over 80 miles away we can offer overnight accommodation and an evening meal at a local Lancaster restaurant on the 3rd June - please state on your booking if you would like to stay overnight. The overnight stay will include a tour of the historic city of Lancaster.
