Sadly this vehicle met a concrete wall one day in January at Flookborough Single Venue Stage Rally. The following notice appeared on the notice board and Rod's locker:

mileage, yellow coachwork (hammeritc finish) comes with Gate Post & Footings 
(gate requires looking at).  A car in this condition is becoming hard to find.

1974 Hillman Imp


Pete Arnold's rally machine. Originally 875cc SOHC 4 cylinder all-alloy rear mounted engine and transaxle: 39bhp @ 5000rpm, 52lb/ft @ 2800 rpm, max. speed 78mph. Converted to 1040cc: 98bhp @ 8050rpm, 70lb/ft @ 6100rpm, max. speed 115mph.
