Accommodation

The workshop takes place at Lancaster House Hotel which is just ten meters from Lancaster University Campus. This is also where we will be lodged and served lunch. Maps of the campus and local area can be found on the University website.

Travel

To get to Lancaster, one can fly to Manchester International Airport or to Liverpool John Lennon Airport.

From Manchester Airport, there are direct trains to Lancaster Station (taking about 75 minutes). From Liverpool Airport, there are buses to the train stations (Liverpool South Parkway and Liverpool Limestreet), where you can connect to Lancaster (no direct lines). Train tickets and timetables may be found at the national rail enquiries site.

There is also a small airport in Blackpool which has connections to certain destinations in Europe. And of course one can also fly to London and catch a direct train from Euston station to Lancaster. Trains depart from Euston to London very regularly and take about 2.45 minutes on week days. Trains during the weekend are less reliable and may take longer. It is advisable to book in advance and to reserve a seat, especially in the morning or late afternoon.

From Lancaster station, the campus can be reached by bus or taxi.
