Levels of language & advertising slogans

Task B - A slogan for a brand of beer

Again working with a couple of other students, look at the ad below and try to work out what is going on in it. Specify in as much detail as you can how the ad manipulates particular linguistic levels to achieve its meaning and effect. Write down your conclusions on a sheet of paper so that you have a record of what you have decided. Then compare your analysis with ours.

How are the meaning and grammatical levels being exploited in the following advertising slogan? (Unfortunately we can't represent the whole of the original ad for you). As before, once you're happy with your own analysis, we'd like you to compare it with ours (below).

It's right tasty is Webster's.

(a slogan for a brand of beer originating from Yorkshire)
