The Environment Agency has developed a wide range of useful guides for collaborative working which are available to pilot hosts to help with their work.  A list of these can be found on the relevant pages of the EA website, under the heading Information for those involved in pilots and wider initiatives.  To request copies of these documents, please email craig.house@environment-agency.gov.uk, stating ‘toolkit request’ in the subject line.

Two sets of advice are now available on the Environment Agency website to help catchments seek external funds to support improvements, both available on the relevant pages of the EA website under External funds could help deliver catchment improvements:

  • Signposts document – provides links to key funding sources for those well-versed in applying for funds
  • Advice notes – five notes that help focus less experienced funders on how to prepare a project and an application checklist

Further information from Defra on their Catchment Based Approach can be found on their website.
