Inclusive learning disability research: the (non disabled) researcher's roleJan Walmsley, School of Health and Social Welfare, The Open University AbstractIn this paper the role of the non disabled researcher who supports inclusive research in learning disability is explored. The author argues for more transparency about the role in order to highlight both the challenges of working inclusively on research projects, and the real contribution of people with learning difficulties to research. The paper ends with a discussion of how to constructively develop inclusive research through changing the relationships of those engaged in research production. |
