Royal Musical Association Symposium
Keynote Speaker: Professor Nigel Simeone
This Royal Musical Association Symposium at the Lancaster Institute for the Contemporary Arts, Lancaster University, seeks to explore how notions of nostalgia and innovation influenced the French artistic climate from the fin-de-siècle until the end of the twentieth century.
On this website you will find the call for papers, the timetable for the days, information about the keynote speaker, Professor Nigel Simeone, and accommodation suggestions, along with travel directions and maps of the University campus and Lancaster city centre.
Due to the exceptionally strong response to the call, this event will now take place across Friday 8 and Saturday 9 May.
We are delighted to acknowledge sponsorship from the Royal Musical Association and funding from Lancaster University. In recognition of the importance of research-led teaching and learning, encouraging the involvement of graduate and undergraduate students from Lancaster and well beyond, the event is also part-sponsored by the National Teaching Fellowship (2008) awarded to Dr Deborah Mawer.
