nothing to carry it but being lodged
on the angle of the octagonal capital
between the shafts x y : to k 2 being
one of sides of said capital in vaulting
shaft
But in the nave angle shafts. another
shaft is added to carry the vaulting
diagonal rib. and the section x - y.
is thus farther enriched: and - still
more curiously: the abaci of the
nave angle vaulting shafts are as
shaded at A. opposite. with their [diagram]
to sides of lower pier capital. But
the pier capital. at choir. comes exactly
under the vaulting shaft capital. only
it has another side given it by a short
truncation of the angle t.
