The bevel x y of one, as the stone is of same thickness
becomes x y of the other.
B. is filled with stone in angles?
A. is certainly accurate taking the p p section its 4foil
and trefoil both careful and note the trefoil not
run up to point of [diagram] as at doge’s palace, but [diagram]
Note also 4foil rolled: trefoil truncated [diagram] and
pierced filleted cusp sharp: Their relation is about
thus [diagram], the 4foil truncation twice as
wide as trefoil.
In the sketch I have not enough shown the vertical
recess to trefoil or 4 foil, to give space. Thus
a section through a b opposite would be a2 b2
the edge of the 4foil meeting the surrounding
fillet exactly.
At fig C is given the archivolt & its section.
There are here all the marks of very early tracery.
