                                                                      		is therefore a defective verb wanting its correlative.
                                                                      		Now at the top of the series of arches - or frieze -
                                                                      		is to be considered the placing of the roof, and form of
                                                                      		cornice, and these two great forms of building when pure
                                                                      		and simple the arch colonnade bearing cornice and roof
                                                                      		and frieze colonnade bearing cornice and roof, are the
                                                                      		two first perfect forms of architecture.  Of the roof and
                                                                      		gable we shall speak presently, but the next point we
                                                                      		have to examine is that of superimposition.
                                                                      Superimposition.   And first of its manner:  If the Superimposition may 1st be frank
                                                                      		and complete, that is to say if each capital
                                                                      		be thoroughly finished with its complete abacus, and
                                                                      		another shaft with a perfect base set on the top of it, and
                                                                      		each course of architecture finished before another is
                                                                      		set on the top of it: This may be called String course - or [gap] Architecture.  		 (This will include St Ambrogio and Pisa,
                                                                      		and Lucca and Pistoja, and all Venice and Florence.)
                                                                      		2ndly Involved architecture; in which some preparation
                                                                      		is made for the upper tiers at the base of the lower, and
                                                                      		some provision for it carried through the capitals of the
                                                                      		lower tier
                                                                      Apertures.	(This not in its place) but division is to be made between
                                                                      		apertures fairly cut into the wall, and having nothing
                                                                      		external but a dripstone: (which it is always difficult
                                                                      		to support, and which has caused much awkwardness and
                                                                      		part of the final ruin
