Third Order Windows.
[diagrams]
I have now found the peculiar 3rd order window a. opposite,
both lines being traced by the dentil: connected
closely with the first Byzantine round: and having
Byzantine bracket capitals in the old house in returned square
of Rialto and the Leaf capital found from the Byzantine
truncation on the grand canal.
Stay we must connect it also with 4th of A. I think I can establish the course of this 3rd into the
4th very early: at palazzo Dandolo for instance.
That the 4th is to be considered a true Arabic arch in

running on contemporarily with the 5th.

called the First order, we have called the First order,
we have again the 2nd b; having either, and most usually
the Byzantine plain truncated or that leaved as in palaz.
Falier. I must either put this as a separate family,
or connect it with the great group of pointed orders and
rounds, wrought with this roll section.
But the form a as on the one hand it becomes the Arabic
4th, so on the other, it became the transitional 5th
