                                                                      will be the case with various subjects of intelligence
                                                                                 only;  with jugglery, and games as chess, etc;  and other
                                                                      exercises of the body or the intellect which have no ob-
                                                                      ject;   and so on the other hand with mechanical opera-
                                                                      tions - weaving, etc which have an object but requirenno
                                                                      productive power except mere habits of bodily movement.
                                                                      
                                                                      	a.   But by the definition of an Art, any thing which has
                                                                      not in its structure something of both; is not an art -
                                                                      if therefore the value on either side of the scale be
                                                                      zero, the sulbect of extimate is not an Ark;  the fair
                                                                      way of ascertaining - etc
                                                                      But even in this attempt we are met by fresh difficulties.
