ST MARKS SOUTHERN PORTICO
between the shafts are given at p 1 w and 2 w St M. At
1 w is the shaft d; at 2 w the shaft c, with d seen in
outline on its left. The fillets on d are cut an inch
deep down from its simple bell: whose contours is
given more truly at fig 2. The rise of the zigzag
on the angle is true: (perhaps necessary if it has to be
kept on same level) The pure section of the whole at
p 6 at the other end of the book St M.
Now the joint at p 6 marks the separation between the real
capitals and the plinth, a b; which is a great flat table
laid on the top of the whole five; A crack is seen through
the middle of it at 2 w for a sufficient reason.
