Belzoni

Giovanni Battista Belzoni (1778-1823), also known as the 'Paduan Giant,' was a circus strongman and Egyptologist, famous for his discovery of the tomb of Seti I in 1817. An exhibition of his finds opened at the Egyptian Hall, Piccadilly, in 1821. He died at Benin, Africa, on an expedition to find the source of the river Niger.
