Cook and Wedderburn note that number 241 is likely to be a misprint for 244, since the former is not by Claude Lorrain. Number 244 is Jacob with Laban and his Daughters (1676) (Canvas, 72 x 94.5 cm). One of Claude's biblical paintings, inspired by the book of Genesis, though the painting does not focus on one specific moment from the biblical narrative. Peter Murray, in the Dulwich Picture Gallery Catalogue notes that 'an earlier version (1614) of the same subject is at Petworth House, Sussex' (p.43). The composition corresponds with Liber Veritatis no.188 and was based on a Claude etching of 1663.
