Blu-Ray player: There is a Blu-ray player contained in the teaching unit which will be able to play audio/video discs from any region. However regarding Blu-Ray discs these are protected and only material licenced for UK Region2 can be played. DVD’s can also be played.

Data point: Data points and cable are provided on the teaching unit for connecting portable devices to the Lancaster University network. WiFi access is also available.

Dual projectors: Two projectors are installed to allow two different presentation sources to be displayed at the same time or to display the same image simultaneously on both projectors, it is controlled by the system in the room.

DVD: There is a DVD player contained in the teaching unit which will be able to play audio/video discs from any region.

Interactive LCD screen: This is a wall mounted display screen on which the presentation source will be displayed, it is linked to the rooms computer and allows the presenter to interact by touch with the image to allow annotations and other free form illustrations.

Interactive PC: This refers to the computer monitor screen which allows interaction between the presenter and the displayed image (using the special pen provided) which will be also displayed on the room main screen to allow annotations and other free form illustrations.

Interactive whiteboard: This is a wall mounted whiteboard that is linked to the room computer, it allows a presentation to be projected onto it and also interaction with the image by use of the special pens and eraser supplied to allow annotations and other free form illustrations.

Laptop connector: Laptop cables and connections to the presentation equipment are available on the teaching unit. A VGA connection plus 3.55mm audio jack is available as well as HDMI in most teaching spaces.

LCD screen: This is a wall mounted display screen on which the presentation source will be displayed, it is controlled by the system in the room.

Multi-region DVD player: There is a DVD player contained in the teaching unit which will be able to play audio/video discs from any region.

PC: This is contained in the rooms teaching unit, it will be linked to a monitor screen, keyboard and mouse, a log in name and password will be required before gaining access. There is a standard set of software available; a list can be found here - http://www.lancaster.ac.uk/iss/software/

Projector: Installed in the room to project the selected presentation source, it is controlled by the system in the room.

Visualiser: This is desk top mounted and allows documents and objects to be presented by the rooms display screen, it has controls available to zoom in or out etc. to clarify the subject.

Power for plugging in portable devices is available from a UK standard socket on the teaching unit.
