Constitutional Amendments

Alton Towers Trip Leader Role

Motion to create a new Committee role called the Alton Towers Trip Leader that would delete itself after the Alton Towers Trip and co-opt Joshua Brown into the role.

Brent Oates asked how Josh was going to be co-opted as the process would require a General Meeting.

• Brent also expressed concerns with the methods by which this role would be created.

Kieran Taylor stated that such a decision should be done during a General Meeting.

• Ben agreed.

Brent stated that, under the current Constitutional ruling, the role would have to be advertised prior to this meeting and would need to allow for candidates to run for this role.

• Brent showed Ben where these clauses were in the Constitution.

Ben decided to postpone this motion until the next General Meeting, approximately Week 23 or 24.

President Election

Candidates:

• Moshiur “Mahi” Chowdhury (absent)

Brent refused to go first to read out his speech.

Mahi wasn’t present but asked Josh to read out his speech for him.

Brent stated, during his speech, stated that he believes that there are procedures that are not being followed properly within the Society along with certain things not being done at all.

Brent also stated that Mahi winning Presidency would only result in catering towards the Esports side of the Society.

James Pett asked Brent what his favourite pizza topping was.

• Brent responded stating that his favourite pizza topping was pineapple.

Kieran asked who Mahi was

• Tom responded stating that Mahi was a second-year Biochemistry student.
