Its’s Week 13 and deadlines are starting to pop up again (big yikes). Huge welcome to any new members that we scooped up last Wednesday at refreshers fair. Make them feel welcome and loved xox.
Week 13 Socials and Events
- COUNTY BAR SOCIAL on Tuesday at 8pm as usual. Let an exec know if you want anything different from the normal stuff we bring along.
- SMASH WEEKLIES on Monday this week in Bowland North Seminar Room 7 from 6pm – 10pm
- ROCKBAND on Wednesday in Pendle Rooms from 7pm until the bar closes. We have our regular rockband socials back this term and it’s sure to be a blast.

AGM Week 18 (Nominations open week 14)
It’s Lent term so that means our AGM will be coming up towards the end of term. This is where we have our annual exec changeover. Every position will be up for grabs (note we may change the structure of the exec before then). Nominations will open in week 14. It’s a great way to get as involved in the Society and help make it the best society in Lancaster.
NSE Fifa Championship
This Spring, the NSE will be hosting a Fifa Championship. If you want to represent Lancaster Uni in Fifa then be sure to talk to top Esports Coordinator Josh and he’ll be able to help you. For more information on the Championship, see NSE’s website.

Have you seen other members in the society wearing one of those swanky LUGES branded hoodies? Well there not just for the exec, you can get your very own!!! For now, they will still be pullover hoodies, but we are working on getting zip hoodies. You can place your order on our website here.
Community and Esports Representives
If you would like to get involved in a specific game/genre for the society and be the first point of contact for everything regarding it then be sure to get involved! If you’re interest in becoming an Esports Rep then be sure to talk to one of our Esports Coordinators. If you are more interested in becoming the Rep for something else then talk to our Community officer James.

Easter Egg of the Week
Everyone’s favourite Elwynn Forest (in World of Warcraft) has a set of demon children who wander the forest for a set time of the day.
There are six kids who spawn for only about an hour or two per day (typically around 7:00 server time), walking around Elwynn Forest in a tight pentagram formation.
They eventually travel to the second floor of the northernmost house in Goldshire. Spot them there, and the game’s music will change and a creepy sound file will play. You might hear a growl, wail, or even the disturbed whispers of old god C’Thun himself. Spooky.
