IGRF v.4 (updateble)

IGRF- Version 4.0: calculates the earths magnetic field components. 10th generation IGRF model coefficients are used - Variety of uses in teaching and research.

The above screen shot shows, in the upper part the main IGRF dialog, indicating the data entry form for calculation of a snapshot of the IGRF values. The lower window shows a latitude profile of IGRF values at a specified longitude.

Downloads

Before downloading, please read the license agreement for using this freeware, which is applicable to both the compiled program and the source code. The compiled program is contained in a zip file, which should be first unzipped in a temporary directory, using a tool such as Winzip. The program is self installing, simply click on the setup.exe.

The source code (currently version 3.0), written is Microsoft Visual C++ (version 6.0) and Fortran, is also available free. Before you download the source code, you should read the requirements.

If you have a problem looking at the help file with the program when using Windows Vista. Load the this update from Microsoft, which will install the missing help-file viewer.
