Let The Woman Speak! The Ghanaian Woman’s View on Gender Equality and Socio-Economic Development

Abstract

The constructive concept of role of the African Woman has experienced a shift due the spread of technology, social media and freedom of speech. African states begun to gain independence from the 1950s incorporating ideals of liberalism and democracy from the West however are still plagued with corruption, political instability, poverty and so forth. This thesis aims to peer into the Ghanaian woman's view and her thought on gender equality, challenges faced while working and taking care of the home; and measures the society/economy could take moving forward.
