Owen is working on his PhD developing models for fusing multi-frequency data sources. Owen is based within STOR-i and is funded by EPSRC and Howz.
Jonathan Thomann (started October 2021)
Jonathan is working on his PhD developing models for detecting coastal changes. His work is funded by the EPSRC in collaboration with Marlan Maritime Technologies Ltd.
Israel Martinez Hernandez (started June 2021)
Israel is a PDRA within the group working on the EPSRC funded "Healthcare Technologies for 2050" project (QUEST) with colleagues at the University of Glasgow.
Novri Suhermi (started May 2019)
Novri is working on his PhD developing models for characterising the influence of stakeholders on building energy consumption. His work is funded by an ESRC i-CASE studentship in collaboration with DESCO Analytics. I joined his supervisory team in Jan 2021 alongside Dr Juhyun Park.
Mengyi Gong (started June 2020)
Mengyi is a PDRA within the group working on the NERC/NSF funded "Signals in the Soil" project with colleagues in Lancaster Environment Centre (LEC), the University of Manchester and University of Colorado.
Nikolaos Karapas (started October 2019)
Nikolaos is working on his PhD developing models for multivariate count time series. His work is funded by the ESRC North West Social Science Doctoral Training Partnership in collaboration with the Office for National Statistics.
David Sudell (started October 2019)
David is working on his PhD developing models for sensor-based decision problems. His work is funded by an EPSRC CASE studentship with In Touch Limited.

Jess completed her PhD in the group and was funded by Howz through the Smith Institute. Her thesis was entitled "Identifying change in human behaviour utilising static sensors". developing models for detecting change in human behaviour through static sensors. Tom Grundy (October 2018 - October 2021)

Anastasia Ushakova (January 2020 - August 2021)
Anastasia was a PDRA within the group. Her first project was working on circular changepoint detection for Environmental time series. Aaron Lowther (January 2020-April 2021)

David Elliott (October 2016 - December 2020)
David completed his PhD in the group and was funded by the ESRC North West Doctoral Training Centre with support from the NHS. His thesis was entitled "Automatic Generalised Seizure Detection in Clinical Electroencephalography Records". Euan McGonigle (October 2017 - September 2020)
Euan completed his PhD in the group and was funded through EPSRC i-CASE with the Numerical Algorithms Group (NAG). His thesis was entitled "Wavelet Methods for Locally Stationary Time Series". Ben completed his PhD in the group and was funded through the ESRC North West Doctoral Training Centre and the Office for National Statistics. His thesis was entitled "Detecting patterns in Time Series Data with applications in Official Statistics". Simon Taylor (October 2017 - July 2019)
Simon was a PDRA in the group working on developing changepoint methods funded by our industrial partner Howz and the Lancaster University Impact Acceleration Account. Following the project Simon started a teaching position in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Edinburgh.
Andrew Connell (May 2018 - August 2018 and May 2019 - August 2019)
Andrew completed two summer internship in the group funded by the Google Summer of Code program. In the first, Andrew developed and implemented online changepoint methods in an R package. Jamie-Leigh completed her PhD in the group and was funded through the STOR-i centre for doctoral training and partially funded by the Office for National Statistics and Big Insights, University of Oslo. Ann was a PDRA in the group funded by a feasibility project from the EPSRC Maths Foresees network. Ann adapted some work from the group to forecast nonstationary river levels.
