A CeMoRe Symposium with Rachel Aldred on Transport in the Media

Transport In The Media - a symposium with Rachel Aldred, CeMoRe Visiting Research Fellow on 9 & 10 June 2014

This interdisciplinary symposium explores relationships between transport policy and practice, academic research, and the media. It includes presentations, workshops, and roundtable discussions with academics and practitioners. Themes include -

- methods for studying 'new' and 'old' media

- how transport academics could or should engage with the media

- media coverage of controversial transport topics including debates over road-building and rail safety

- how (and if) media coverage can lead to policy change

The symposium starts with lunch on Monday 9th June (12-7pm) and continues on Tuesday 10th (9:30-12:30). It will be held at Lancaster University's Bailrigg Conference Centre and is organised and supportedby CeMoRe in collaboration with Westminster University.

There will be a self-funded evening meal at The Borough, Dalton Square, Lancaster on 9th June - a menu and details of how to pay will be sent to all registrants.
