Undergraduate

We offer a stimulating environment for historical learning that aims to be both enjoyable and intellectually challenging. Our degree programmes provide our students with a wide choice of courses, opportunities to engage in original historical research, and a strong focus on personal development. 

Postgraduate

Postgraduate study is at the core of the Department’s research and learning activities. Our postgraduate community comprises PhD and MA students, whose work reflects the wide range of research interests and expertise, both chronologically and geographically, in the Department.

Research

Our research is marked by cross- and interdisciplinary interests. We cover a broad chronological span from the early medieval to the modern and contemporary periods. Our geographical scopes extend across Western, Central, and Eastern Europe, North Africa, the Middle East, South and East Asia, Australasia, and the Americas.
