Newsflash

Booking Opens for June Event at Carlisle Cathedral

Booking is now open for the RHC's final Study Event of the 2023-2024 season: on Saturday 1 June we will be at Carlisle Cathedral's beautiful Fratry Hall for Carlisle Cathedral Library: past, present and future. Speakers including Professor Matthew Sangster (University of Glasgow), Dr Matthew Shaw (Queens College, Oxford) and Mathilda Houston-Brown (Wadham College, Oxford) will be examining the Cathedral Library's collection of rare books and manuscripts, placing it in context and considering what it can tell us about social and intellectual life in Carlisle since the later 17th century. Tickets are on sale through our Online Store, so book your place(s) now.

Meanwhile tickets are still available for Saturday 18 May, when we'll be considering the Isle of Man: Maritime Matters. This full-day Study Event looks at the maritime history and heritage of the Isle of Man, but will be held on-campus in our usual Library Events Space venue. This event will not be streamed, but is available for a live audience only. Tickets are on sale through our Online Store, so secure your place now.

And finally there are just a few tickets remaining for Friday 19 April, when RHC Co-Director Dr Chris Donaldson and Dr Sunita Abraham (Lancaster University Lecturer in Decolonisation) will lead a 90-minute walk around nine Lancaster city centre locations highlighting Local Landmarks, Global Stories: the 'glocal' Lancaster History Tour. Places are limited to just 20, so don't delay! Book your tickets before it's too late.

See our Events pages for more details.
