INTO EUROPE - Prepare for Modern English Exams
Series editor: J. Charles Alderson

Reading and Use of English
J. Charles Alderson - Mária Cseresznyés

This book helps students and teachers prepare for modern European examinations by developing, through a wide variety of English practice tasks, the skills needed not only to pass examinations, but also to use English in the real world. The authors review the process of reading, what skills and subskills are involved and how these can be tested. They also discuss modern approaches to the testing of grammar and vocabulary - the use of the language.

The practice tasks, based on authentic texts, were developed at different levels of the Council of Europe's Common European Framework, in accordance with modern European testing principles and practice. All the tasks were tried out on large samples of real students in real secondary schools.

The reader will find the Answer Keys and explanations especially useful.
