Aims

Research

To use an action research and evaluative approach that values the experience of participants and to consider the individual, cultural, social and economic factors that help or hinder participation in learning throughout the lifecourse.

Equity

To promote the benefits, identify, and where possible challenge, the obstacles associated with formal and informal learning within families, communities, educational institutions, third sector organisations and the work place.

Access

To research the individual, cultural, social and economic barriers experienced by individuals seeking access to learning and to explore ways to enable institutions to develop inclusive policies and practice.

Participation

To use research to inform our own and others' policies and practice to facilitate the opportunity for engagement in lifelong learning for all, especially amongst people belonging to groups that have traditionally been excluded.
