Working in Partnership

Although we have a greater focus on research REAP continues to value its partnerships with statutory and voluntary agencies interested and committed to offering lifelong learning opportunities for learners with limited experience of education. From our own experience and the feedback received from partners we believe that this approach is highly beneficial. See ACA working in partnership as an example of how policy and practice are enhanced by a partnership approach.

Reasons for Working in Partnership

REAP works in partnership in all key areas of its work:

  • Research
  • Dissemination
  • Course Development

Partnership for Research

In developing a research agenda REAP is keen to include issues identified by the community as well as responding to current concerns of funding bodies supporting research relating to factors associated with educational equality, widening participation and lifelong learning.

Partnership for Dissemination

REAP is uniquely placed to disseminate local, regional, and national issues, to a wide number of different audiences including: tutors, community partners, practitioners, researchers, senior managers in FE Colleges and Higher Education Institutions, Local Educational Authorities, and national networks.

We aim to disseminate for awareness and understanding using local, regional, national and international staff development events, research papers and project information leaflets and reports.

Partnership for Course Development

Courses and staff development opportunities are always developed in partnership. This allows us to:

  • provide targeted sessions
  • integrate evaluation or action research component to aid the eventual improvement of provision and generate materials for wider use
