                                                                      abacus, l r which is the same as that of the other capital
                                                                      is specially fine.  It is curious that this running
                                                                      pattern is different on the two sides - an example of
                                                                      both is gicen.  It would be difficult to find a more ad-
                                                                      mirable example of perfect design adapted to rapid and
                                                                      simple execution.
                                                                      The capital 6 is frequent:  10 occurs only once: and
                                                                      this one daguerreotyped only once:  at the end of the
                                                                      arcade%  There are no basket capitals;  and the others
                                                                      are ingenious leafage in the style of No 6 but a lttle
                                                                      sharper in the angles.
                                                                      The disposition of the arches is curious:  The wings are
                                                                      of equal width in both stories;  and have 4 arches above
                                                                      three:  the central arcade has 18 above 10;  so that
                                                                      the columns as usual get into all kinds of positions.
