Turner 's Florence, from San Miniato, watercolour, c.1827, Private Collection ( Wilton 726); engraved by E. Goodall for The Keepsake, 1828 ( Rawlinson 319). If Ruskin had seen the watercolour, as his text perhaps implies, it may have been one of three variants of this composition - possibly the one which passed through the hands of the dealer Thomas Griffith (Herbert Art Gallery and Museum, Coventry, Wilton 727).
