Research Interests
My PhD project is about optimising in-store price reductions. Research is needed to develop and choose the best pricing strategies for products towards the end of their saleable lives. To do this we need to accurately estimate demand at each price point and then use an optimisation technique to choose the best prices. Therefore, this project includes a mixture of Statistics and Operational Research.
Throughout the MRes, we studied a range of topics within Statistics and Operational Research to help us discover an areas we wanted to to conduct research in. This included taught courses, projects, group work and a blog. You can see my blog posts from this period using the link below.
