More Music and Northern Dragons perform at University Open Day

More Music performers James, Theresa and Jade played a ruan, erhu and guzheng respectively and sang traditional Chinese songs in front of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS) on University Visit Day. 

In contrast, Accrington-based Northern Dragons, led by Lancaster University alumnus Dave Eccles, performed a lion dance and demonstrated taichi. 

Dr. Qihai Huang, Director of the Confucius Institute said "We wanted to draw attention to the fact that from October 2012 the Linguistics and English Language department and the Confucius Institute will be offering a part 1 undergraduate course in Chinese language and culture and from 2013, there will be the option to study BA English Language with Chinese or BA Linguistics with Chinese at Lancaster. More Music and Northern Dragons do great work in the community, everyone enjoyed their participation in the visit day. "
