"Can we have Chinese more often?"
255 boys and girls aged 4 to 11 together with their teachers from 6 primary schools in Lancashire and Cumbria, enjoyed the Chinese summer school 2013 organized by the Confucius Institute at Lancaster University UK.
Blending Chinese language learning with a lot of fun activities: kite flying, calligraphy, paper cutting, rhymes, songs, games, children and teachers were immersed in the event. Here are some of the requests from children to reflect the result of the event: “Can we have Chinese more often?”, “When are we going to have Chinese next time?”…….
2 BIRDS, 1 STONE: in order to maintain a high standard of Chinese language teaching and learning, the Chinese Summer School 2013 combined teaching local children with training 2 local Chinese teachers: Ms. Dan Liang and Ms. Jian Guo.
The Chinese Summer School 2013 was organized by Prof. Brady Liu and Manager Mrs. Colette Webb, supervised by Ms. Jackie Cui and Miss Shuhui Tang Hanban volunteer teacher and Ms. Yang Liu also assisted at the event.
